Circuit training has continued to be one of most popular forms of group exercise for men, women and children. It allows a variety of fitness abilities to train together, and in a multitude of different formats. Circuits classes can be delivered in health clubs and sports centres as well as outdoors, and the versatility means that you can use these skills with large groups or in one-to-one situations.
Circuits Instructor Course Aims
The Aim of this Circuits Instructor Course is to develop group training skills to allow qualified fitness intructors, personal trainers and exercise to music teachers to deliver circuit training sessions.
Objectives : By the end of the course attendees should be able to:
1. Apply different exercises and types of circuit layout for circuit training. 2. Plan a safe and effective circuit training session. 3. Identify considerations to running a circuits session, such as safety, music, managing numbers. 4. Teach a safe and effective circuits sessions.
Assessments:
Practical - Competent demonstration of Circuit Training to a group.

10.00 Registration, Introduction to Circuits Instruction 11.30 Practical - Class Set Up and Tutor Led Demonstration 13.00 Shower & Lunch (students to make own arrangements) 13.45 Theory - Considerations, Safety, Set Up, Equipment 14.30 Session Planning 15.00 Practical Assessments & Feedback 18.00 Course Consolidation & Conclusion
Circuits Instructor Entry Requirements
To qualify for REPs CPD, attendees should possess:
- Level 2 Gym Instructor or Studio Instructor Qualification minimum - Valid REPs membership
This course is open to fitness enthusiasts, strength and conditioning coaches, and instructors not on the Register of Exercise Professionals, but will not be able to use the course as CPD.
This course is designed to allow qualified fitness professionals to upskill and deliver Circuits, NOT for unqualified persons to deliver this type of training.
