Weight Management Specialist Course Aims
The Aim of Weight Management Specialist is to provide a comprehensive overview for fitness professionals of the science and application of weight management techniques for effective fat loss.
Objectives : By the end of the course attendees should be able to:
1. Understand the scientific concepts of weight gain, and methods of how to avoid these pitfalls. 2. Assess a clients body composition using calipers and mathematical equations. 3. Understand effective methods for fat loss using a variety of cardiovascular and resistance training protocols. 4. Understand how to manipulate a clients diet to ensure effective fat loss. 5. Gain the knowledge of commonly used supplements that are used to achieve fat loss, and the pros and cons associated with each. 6. Gain an understanding of some alternative methods commonly used nowadays for fat loss and weight management, and the pros and cons associated with these.
Assessments:
1. Successful completion of Worksheets 2. Theory - Completion of Theory Exam (40 Questions - 60 minutes) - minimum pass mark 70%

Weight Management Specialist Entry Requirements
To qualify for REPs CPD, attendees should possess:
- Level 3 Advanced Instructor or Personal Trainer Qualification minimum - Valid REPs membership
This course is open to those not meeting the entry requirements - fitness enthusiasts, strength and conditioning coaches, physiotherapists and instructors not on the Register of Exercise Professionals, but will not be able to use the course as REPs CPD.
